COVID-19 UPDATE - MAY 13, 2020
Masks must be worn at all times while moving between classes the studio for ages 5 and older.

Our dance rooms have been re-organized to maximize social distancing regulations.
  1. We will be asking the dancers to stay within their assigned square to ensure distance between the students. We will modify our recital rehearsals waiting to rehearse staging (the changing of the dancer's positions on the stage) until it is safe to do so.
  2. Some of the class times have been adjusted to stagger arrival and departure times.  We also needed to move Level 3 classes to Monday/Wednesday to prevent too much congestion.
  3. Students will not have to change classrooms.  Once they enter the room, they will stay there.  (For example:  Prior to spring break a dancer may have had ballet in Studio A and jazz in Studio B.  Now that dancer will have both in one studio.)
  4. If dancers have a break longer than 15 minutes between classes, we ask that parents pick them up.  There will not be an area, for long wait times.  For short wait times, the dancers can stay in the classroom.
  5. Dressing Rooms and Snack Areas will be closed.

We ask that parents and observers do not come inside with students.
We have been able to move almost all of our preschool classes up into the front studio. This will enable parents to pick up from our front door entrance while remaining outside. If you would like to stay close by in the parking lot, the teacher will take your cell phone number in case you are needed quickly.  Teachers will walk classes to the front door for pickup after classes.

HELP US BE PREPARED FOR YOU!
Some of our classes are larger and will need to be divided if all are in attendance. To be adequately prepared, we need to know if you are planning to attend classes in person or if you would like to continue "zooming" live classes from home.

COVID-19 UPDATE - MAY 8, 2020
After today's amendments to the "Safer-At-Home" order, we wanted to reach out to everyone and explain our intentions. We understand that every family feels differently about when the right time is to be back in the classroom setting. We are supportive of everyones concerns and/or eagerness to return to the studio. We want to be accommodating to all of our customers needs.

We recognize that we have two types of clients:
Some are eager and ready to come back as long as there are precautions taken in social distancing. For these families, we will be open for classes on May 18th.
Others need more time phasing into "normal life" to feel comfortable coming back to the studio. For these families, we will continue "Zooming" our classes live from the studio so that all students can continue dancing.
CHANGE IN START DATE
We will begin our final month of the 2019-2020 season on Monday May 18th (instead of May 11th) and continue through June 12th. We have not run tuition for May yet, but as we had previously planned we will auto-draft your final installment for the 2019-2020 season on May 15th. (This covers classes May 18-JUNE 12). According to the Tuscaloosa city phase plan, this will enable us to get back in the physical classroom. The classes will continue to be "Zoomed" as before for those who do not feet comfortable being back in the studio. The schedule will be slightly altered to allow for cleaning between new classes and eliminate traffic in the hallway. Also, all preschool classes will be moved to the front studio for easy access. We will also HOPEFULLY soon have a more definitive plan from the mayor's office on entertainment venues and how this will relate to our recital.
RECITAL UPDATE
Several factors play into planning for our recital:
We are considering availability for entertainment venues in Tuscaloosa.
We want the audience members to be safe as well as the dancers backstage.
For our older dancers, we want to follow rules regarding safety, but also want to present the same high standard of performances from our studio.

WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED DEFINITE ANSWERS YET BUT THIS IS WHAT WE ARE HOPEFUL FOR:

PLAN A - All recitals happening sometime the THIRD OR FOURTH week of June at 50% capacity per show.
PLAN B - PRESCHOOL recital happening class by class in intervals in late June. LEVEL 1-7 recitals happening in late AUGUST.
PLAN C - All dancers having recitals in AUGUST

SUMMER AND COMPANY UPDATE
Please note the revised dates for our summer camps in the studio on our summer page.

We are moving Itty Bitty Beach Party and TDC Company Intensive from June to August. All company dancers will be required to attend the 3 week company workshop August 10-28 (Monday-Thursday). For Upper Level company members, we will be planning to bring in guest choreographers and some may be on weekends during that time as well.

**PLEASE NOTE - If we have to move our recital to end of August, we will then have to adapt our plan for company choreography.

Stay tuned for information coming soon about Company Auditions!!! Can't Wait!
MAY TUITION

We are NOT running tuition on the 1st, but plan to have a clearer plan of action for our rehearsals and show and will run one more month of tuition as we make sure that everything can happen as we plan.  We will run the final installment of our 10 month season on May 15th.
PRESCHOOL RECITAL

We MAY do the preschool and elementary show in small groups (i.e. two classes at at time and their guests come to the BAMA at allotted times). This way we do not have too many people in the theatre or too many students back stage at one time. This way your child still gets the experience of dancing on stage in costume at the BAMA, but are protected from too much exposure to germs.
LEVEL 1 & OLDER RECITALS

Older dancers, we are still working on a plan for our productions, but would like to have an experience of the full productions, we would just need everyone to do their part to social distance and use smart decisions on personal space.
