RECITAL PICTURE WEEKS

APRIL 1, 2024 - April 21, 2024

Classes are scheduled for specific times where your dancer will have the opportunity to photographed in each of their costumes in their group. Order forms for the photos will be at TDC the week prior and during photo week. Individual Photos are optional. In addition to all of our group photos which will be featured in the program yearbook at our recital, our photographer will also give the opportunity for you  to have an individual photo taken of your dancer. (Individual photos must be requested and paid for on the order form Michael will have at the studio).

PLEASE NOTE:

  1. We ask that all dancers participate in the group photos even if you do not plan to purchase a package. Our TDC Yearbook will feature group photos and will serve as a “yearbook” of memories that you can collect for years to come! Group Pictures are required and Individual Pictures are optional.
  2. Read the schedule carefully, as one week will be your classes photos and the other will be regular class. You will need to make note of which week is your picture and which is class time as it varies from class to class.
  3. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled picture time to be ready at your assigned time. Late arrivals will not be in photos. The times listed are the beginning time for your photo and may take 30 minutes to complete.
  4. If you have more than one group photo, please be dressed in the first costume listed with hair and makeup ready. We will try our best to take photos in the order listed.
  5. If you purchase an individual photo, it may be used in the TDC Yearbook – it will be taken at the assigned group photo time. YOU MUST LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO USE YOUR INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS FOR A PROGRAM AD WHEN YOU PURCHASE PROGRAM AD (available on our online store).
  6. Please Note…Taking individual photos at the time of your group photo is available if you choose to purchase one. However, due to the large volume of pictures that are taken, students are limited to one pose only. You will receive the print selected and a IG sized (web ONLY) file. Individual photos will be taken on the TDC selected background. If you are interested in a longer session, we encourage you to schedule an individual session with Michael Moore for a more in-depth photo shoot.

GENERAL NOTES

ADD SOME FLAIR WITH PERFECT HAIR!

All hair styles should be sprayed liberally with hairspray and headpieces secured with Bobby pins! If you have a ballet bun hairstyle it should be in line with your dancers cheekbones, secured with plenty of Bobby pins and a hairnet if there are flyaways. Test the security of the headpiece by shaking your head vigorously then add a few extra pins for extra luck!

MAKE-UP MAGIC...

All dancers should wear "stage makeup." This is adult makeup applied a little bit heavier than normal. Application includes: foundation, blush, mascara, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and red or pink lipstick. The bright stage lights tend to wash out dancers’ expressions so accenting the eyes, lips, and cheeks ensures that your dancer can be seen past the 3rd row! Please apply makeup before entering the theatre!

ACCEPTABLE ACCESSORIES:

Small stud earrings may be worn if your dancers ears are pierced. No other jewelry is permitted unless it is a part of their costume! Please also consider a natural nail polish if nails are painted. No extra jewelry should be worn in rehearsals or performances.

Captivating Costumes

Finish all of your child’s costume alterations before their dress rehearsal. Be sure to look at the “Important Recital Information” google sheet to see all of your child’s costume information including hair, tights and shoes. Tights and shoes are available in Primadonnas. Please purchase them before recital week! If you have any questions about your child’s costume please ask your teacher or call the office before recital week. Please do not wear underwear under any costume. All ballet shoe ties should be tucked into the shoe. Don’t forget to write your child’s name in everything, especially shoes!
