About Alisha

Alisha Jones is a two-time graduate of The University of Alabama and a resident of Tuscaloosa for almost 20 years. She has worked across the southeast as a freelance choreographer for a variety of organizations. Locally she has provided choreography for The Actor’s Charitable Theatre, Tuscaloosa Children’s Theatre, and Theatre Tuscaloosa. Alisha has also worked with students in the theater, choir, and band classes of Tuscaloosa City and County schools. Her passion has always been to make dance accessible to everyone by meeting students where they are and helping develop their confidence.



Alisha began dancing at an early age, training in jazz, tap, and hip-hop and participating in cheer, color guard, danceline, and showchoir. She found her true passion on the stage performing in her first musical. Since then she has served as Director and Choreographer for countless shows, and has been seen onstage in productions of Hairspray, Cats, and Chicago. Alisha co-founded The Actor’s Charitable Theatre in 2009 and is always looking for ways to contribute to the Tuscaloosa arts community. Outside of the dance and performing arts arena, Alisha is the District Manager of Junior Achievement for Tuscaloosa. She is so happy both she and her daughter have found a dance family at TDC.
